2024 "Oceans Day" Beach Cleanup Activity: Giant Group Unites to Restore the Marine Environment
In a continued commitment to environmental protection, Giant Group recently partnered with the Yuanli Sea Line Pro-Environmental Association to organize the "2024 Oceans Day" beach cleanup. A total of 256 employees and their families joined forces to take tangible actions to protect the local marine environment, helping to restore the ocean's original blue and pristine state.
This marks the second year that Giant Group has hosted a beach cleanup activity. This year, the location shifted from Dajia Beach to the southern beach of Yuanli Coast, a remote area not typically frequented by tourists. Over the years, this beach has accumulated significant amounts of marine debris. Following an initial site survey, we strategized how to efficiently remove as much debris as possible using our professional yet simple equipment.
On the day of the cleanup, we repurposed canvas materials from within the company to create a "marine debris sedan" to transport large items of debris ashore. The rest of the team formed a long human chain, working together to move the waste off the beach. Despite the challenging conditions, everyone collaborated to achieve a meaningful goal, embodying the core spirit of Giant Group.
Racing against the clock under the scorching sun
Our employees managed to remove 2,519 kilograms of marine debris in a short time—equivalent to the weight of 25 adult dolphins. Through the collective efforts of our team, this ocean was briefly reborn.
As a global leader in the cycling industry, Giant Group is not only dedicated to offering a diverse range of products but has also integrated ESG strategies into our core business operations. Protecting the local environment is part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability. The vision of a "sustainable" ocean requires "continuous" promotion and action. We invite you to join us in taking concrete steps to protect our planet and restore its natural ecosystems!
